The Ituĩka African Language Teachers Database

This week, as part of the series on online resources in African Studies, we recommend Ituĩka, a literary platform devoted to African languages and translation.

Their African languages teachers’ database is conceptualised as a resource that will connect teachers and learners of African languages from across the continent and the diaspora.

It is hoped that this resource will contribute to the strengthening of the teaching of African languages and creating structures that can enhance this process.

This project is a partnership with the Ngugi wa Thiong’o Foundation and part of a larger, five-year project funded by the European Research Council titled ‘Literary Activism in Sub-Saharan Africa: Commons, Publics and Networks of Practice’ at the University of Bristol.
